Singing Hymns During the Rain Storm

Well, hey everyone!

I am not sure how many people read this so "hi" to the few who may. This week has not been too exciting. We had a few insane rainstorms that caused me and my companion to get soaked from head to toe.

There is a story that I want to share about those rainstorms:

One of the days we were outside going to our last lesson we realized that a storm was on its way. The people we were going to teach just said we better head home, when we asked them about it. So we did just that. On our way home my companion wanted to get some food instead of make anything once we got home, so we stopped. That was the first mistake. When we stopped, it started to downpour like no other storm I have seen. And I have seen lots of amazing storms here.  We ran for shelter and ended up in a man's shop. There was a small girl and an older woman in there as well with an open door that let lots of rain and wind and noise inside. My companion and I were just sitting there waiting, until I got the idea that we should sing hymns over the storm, so we started. We went through so many songs and the woman and the girl were transfixed by it. Neither one spoke English but they knew it was special. They could feel something different, especially with the way churches act around here. The hymns really brought peace.

It was so amazing to see them so involved yet not saying a single word. When we sing those songs they are powerful. Just as stories hold a different power then being taught a lesson, music has power beyond what I think any of us understand. The peace and tranquility they bring really can change the whole of the surroundings that you are in. I cannot sing at all, not even to save my life, but to these people it didn't matter. The spirit can work miracles through small and simple things. A small song, a simple smile, anything at all we do can make or break the world. Be careful in all you do. Power is in each and everyone of you, use it well, because it is power that can bring salvation into others' lives. So smile and sing a hymn and make sure you smile. You are all amazing, you are all loved by an all powerful being. So be ready to change lives

I love you all. Power is being turned off as I type -

Love you talk soon
